Liverpool opted to send some big names out on loan, but not many of them have been thriving.
The Reds went big in the summer and brought in some of Europe’s biggest players, which is good for the fans, but not for many of the youngsters.
Getting into the side was hard enough already, but now it seems near impossible, which is why Liverpool decided to send a few out on loan.

The likes of Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas, two experienced first-team players, have really struggled while away, and so too have many of the younger ones who have dropped down to the lower leagues of English football.
However, one star in the Championship may have finally turned a corner and got his season back on track after scoring his first goal since joining five months ago, with it a very well-taken one too.
Lewis Koumas scored his first goal for Birmingham
One of the biggest names in the Liverpool academy is Lewis Koumas, and not because of his dad either, with the winger making a real name for himself after rising up through the ranks with his ‘exceptional’ performances.
Due to the competition for places in his position, a loan move seemed best for him to get some minutes, with Birmingham a very attractive proposition at the time due to the squad they were building.

Things have not gone to plan for them, though, as they sit 14th in the Championship, and things had not been the best for Koumas either after getting very few minutes and failing to score in his first 20 league games.
However, against Coventry, he scored his first goal for the club in their 3-2 win, with the Welshman grabbing their second to put them 2-1 up.
He took the goal neatly too after making a great run in behind and taking the ball around the goalkeeper, with the 20-year-old having the composure to finish it off too.
Hopefully this will give him the confidence to really kick on as he has all the talent in the world, with there still a chance that he can have a future at Anfield.
Lewis Koumas could force his way into Arne Slot’s plans

It is no secret that Liverpool need attacking reinforcements even when everyone is fit, with a winger high up on their agenda.
A move for Antoine Semenyo is no longer in the offing, while other options look like they will cost a fortune, suggesting that they might need to try and find a hidden gem.
However, perhaps they do not need to look any further as Koumas could be a good option to have in rotation, although he will need to prove himself fully first.
If he sets the Championship alight in the second half of the season, then he will have caught the eye of Arne Slot upon his return in the summer, perhaps forcing his way into his plans.
It will, of course, take a lot, and Liverpool will likely sign another winger anyway, but they need options and depth, and Koumas might be at the age where he is deserving of a proper chance.
