Incoming Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will not take charge of the Blues against Fulham in the West London derby on Wednesday.
Calum McFarlane will again be tasked with leading the side after rescuing a point from a difficult scenario at the Etihad against Manchester City,
McFarlane had the backing of senior players for stepping up and taking responsibility, even if it was only expected to be for one game.

Liam Rosenior given time to work with Chelsea players before taking charge of game
Simon Phillips has stated that the Englishman has already met the Chelsea squad ahead of his appointment, but is being saved for the Charlton game to allow him some time working with the players before managing his first game.
He said on his Substack: “One source has said that they see the FA Cup game against Charlton at the weekend as being a smoother transition rather than being thrown in after one training session for the Fulham game on Wednesday night.
“Another source has confirmed this and also says that Rosenior would ideally like to take more than one training session with his new players before managing his first game.
“Sources believe Rosenior was in Cobham yesterday and met the players. The plan was that he was going to take a training session yesterday once his appointment had been confirmed.
“There was even talk of him doing a later session in the day after Callum McFarlane and his team took the first session of the day. This was when they were looking to have Rosenior in the dugout for Wednesday night.”

Excitement builds as Rosenior confirms Chelsea switch
Rosenior has confirmed he will take the Chelsea job, even if the opportunity has not come at the ideal time for him.
There is plenty of excitement regarding his move. Wayne Rooney has waxed lyrical about Rosenior as a coach, following time working with him at Derby County.
There is no one more excited than Rosenior’s father, who is looking forward to spending more time with his son upon his return home.
Until then though, McFarlane has a job on his hands to continue to steady the ship before his arrival, with three points required in the West London derby.
