Liam Rosenior announces three backroom staff will follow him from Strasbourg to Chelsea

Liam Rosenior announced on Tuesday morning that he will become Chelsea’s next head coach.

The Englishman has been heavily linked with the vacant role at Stamford Bridge, and his move will soon be made official.

One of the key questions whenever a club hires a new manager is who will be on their backroom staff.

Rosenior has just confirmed that three coaches will join him in leaving Strasbourg to move to Chelsea.

Liam Rosenior brings three staff members with him to Chelsea

Rosenior has announced that Justin Walker, Kalifa Cisse and Ben Warner will work with him at Chelsea.

Walker is expected to be the Blues’ assistant manager, as he was at Strasbourg and Hull City before that.

He made over 400 appearances in his professional football career, playing for EFL clubs such as Scunthorpe United and Lincoln City.

Cisse is a former defensive midfielder and centre-back who previously played for Reading, Bristol City, and Derby County in England.

He was part of Rosenior’s coaching team at Strasbourg and will likely have the same job at Chelsea.

Ben Warner was head of analysis at Strasbourg, having performed similar roles at Hull and Derby.

He will work closely with Blues technical analyst and set-piece expert Bernardo Cueva at Stamford Bridge.

When is Liam Rosenior’s first game as Chelsea manager?

Everyone has known that Liam Rosenior would be Enzo Maresca’s replacement since last week, so many expected him to take charge of the match against Fulham on Wednesday.

However, Rosenior and the club have decided that his first game will be Chelsea’s FA Cup third round tie with Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

While this will not be a walkover, it should be an easier fixture than Fulham away in the Premier League.

Rosenior will also have the chance to hold training sessions on Thursday and Friday before taking his team to The Valley.
