Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has already delivered the perfect message to Liam Rosenior following the Strasbourg boss's appointment as Enzo Maresca's replacement. The Argentine revealed that the Blues squad is eager to make an impression on the 41-year-old, who penned a six-year contract with Chelsea this morning.

Garnacho, who joined Chelsea under Maresca's stewardship, confessed his disappointment at seeing the Italian manager depart but insisted he and his teammates are prepared for the challenges ahead. Speaking to Sky Sports, Garnacho said: "It's always sad when a manager goes, but he's a really good guy and I learned a lot from him but I signed for Chelsea. We have to keep working, keep moving and be ready for what is coming.

"I think we started the season well but the last few weeks were a little more difficult because of the results and everything. But I said before, our main goal is to try to keep winning games.

"A new manager is going to come in but we are still the same team. We have to be ready for Wednesday and that's our job.

"Yeah you're always going to try to prove yourself and show him, but I said before, it's exactly the same. A new guy will have new ideas or new things but you're always going to have to show something to play.

"That's why we're here. We're a really young team and obviously have three, four or five players who are like captains and more experienced.

"The rest, we're really young and I think we help each other which is good for the environment in the dressing room also. Now, we have to keep focused on the season and try to do our best.

"A new manager is coming, for example, we had the Under-21s manager [against Man City] but on the pitch, we're the same players so I think with the mentality and character we have, that's why we got a point and want to keep fighting."

Alejandro Garnacho has broken his silence after Enzo Maresca's exit and sent a message to new Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior.

Rosenior sealed his switch to Chelsea on Tuesday morning, completing his journey to the capital from Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg after guiding the French side to European qualification for the first time in nearly two decades.

Following his appointment at Stamford Bridge, Rosenior declared: "I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies.

To be entrusted with this role means the world to me and I want to thank all involved for the opportunity and faith in undertaking this job. I will give everything to bring the success this club deserves.

"I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness and working for one another, and those values will be at the heart of everything we do. They will be the foundation of our success.

"I am excited to work with this extremely talented group of players and staff, to build strong connections on and off the pitch, and to create an environment where everyone feels united and driven by the same goal.

"There is a real hunger to win, and I will give everything, every single day, to help this team compete and win at the very highest level to make everyone connected and proud to be a part of Chelsea Football Club.
