Arsenal will press ahead with a move for Blackburn Rovers striker Igor Tyjon during the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Sun claim the Gunners “want to sign” the 17-year-old as they seek to strengthen their forward options for their academy.

After losing promising youngster Chido Obi to Manchester United at the start of last season, the London club have been trying to land Tyjon.
However, several bids reaching up to £1m have been rejected by Blackburn up until now.
Why a new offer for Tyjon could be accepted
The teenager has rejected a new contract at Blackburn, and as he is only on a scholarship with the Championship side until this summer, he will be free to leave Ewood Park within six months.
It means this transfer window is the last time that Blackburn can sell Tyjon for a decent fee. They will still get compensation from his next team due to his age, but they would benefit more financially if they allowed him to leave over the coming weeks.
What do Arsenal fans need to know about the forward?
Tyjon has come up through Blackburn’s youth ranks, and he has caught the eye when given chances at Under 21 level, scoring 9 times in just 13 Premier League 2 appearances over the past couple of years.
The youngster was given his senior debut against Bristol City in a league game back in September 2024, but he has had to wait a while for other opportunities. He got his first start against Bradford City in the first round of the Carabao Cup at the start of this campaign.
If he does move to the Emirates, Tyjon will be expected to compete with Andre Harriman-Annous. The 18-year-old got his first start for the senior side against Brighton in the Carabao Cup a couple of months ago.
