Chelsea is reportedly plotting a move to sign Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr to be Liam Rosenior’s first signing.
The Blues sacked Enzo Maresca last week and decided to replace Maresca with Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior, who was under the same ownership at the French sister club. Rosenior has shown he is a promising young manager, and he will first take charge of the Blues for their game against Charlton in the FA Cup on Saturday.
With all the changes in the manager position, many are forgetting that we’re fully embroiled in the January transfer window. The Independent claims that reports in Spain are saying Chelsea are plotting a £135m bid to sign Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr.
The Brazilian’s future at Madrid is uncertain, as his contract is due to expire in 2027. He has made 19 La Liga appearances under Xabi Alonso so far this season, scoring five goals, and providing five assists. There’s no doubt that he would be a blockbuster first signing for Rosenior at Stamford Bridge.

Do the Blues really need another winger?
The biggest question around this is whether Chelsea would be prepared to spend so much money on a new winger, especially seeing as they already have the likes of Estevao, Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens amongst their ranks.
Many people believe that Chelsea are in need of a centre-back and that they should invest in their defence instead. But, it will be interesting to see how Rosenior views his squad, and how he wants to improve it.
