Man City have decided to “explore” a move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, according to BBC journalist Sami Mokbel.
The injuries sustained by Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias against Chelsea have prompted a search for potential replacements.
With Guehi out of contract at the end of the season, a transfer in January is seen as viable and City fans on X believe the club should be doing all they can to secure the defender’s signature this month:

Will Guehi leave Palace this month?
Plenty of teams are interested in the England international, including Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but all of these suitors are looking to snap him up when he becomes a free agent in July.
Palace are reportedly happy to allow Guehi to run down the final six months of his current deal, so any bid in January may have to be pretty significant, despite the fact that his contract is nearing its end.
How long will Man City be without Gvardiol and Dias?
The main reason why Pep Guardiola‘s side may consider paying over the odds for Guehi is due to an injury crisis in the centre of defence.
Gvardiol is expected to be out for several months with a fractured leg, while Dias has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.
With John Stones also unavailable, Guardiola has two senior centre-back options remaining – Nathan Ake and Abdukodir Khusanov.
