Recent reports had linked both Serie A clubs with a potential loan move for the Italian, with the idea of bringing Chiesa back to Italy midway through the season.

However, according to Sky Sports UK, via TuttoMercatoWeb, those hopes are set to be frustrated.

Liverpool shut door on Chiesa exit in January

The Premier League club have reportedly ruled out any January exit, whether on loan or via a permanent transfer.

Liverpool view the winger as part of their plans for the remainder of the campaign and are unwilling to sanction a mid-season departure.

The situation could change once the winter window closes. Liverpool are understood to be open to discussing his future at a later stage, but only in the context of a full transfer rather than a temporary deal. For now, that scenario is considered off the table.

Chiesa joined Liverpool from Juventus in the summer of 2024 and remains under contract until 2028, with two and a half years still remaining on his deal.

So far this season, the Italy international has made 15 Premier League appearances, scoring twice. While Napoli and Juventus continue to monitor his situation, any return to Serie A will have to wait until at least the summer, and only if Liverpool’s conditions are met.
