The NBA schedule will have a full slate of six games on TV for January 6th, two of which will be nationally televised on NBC and Peacock.

The 2025-26 NBA season is in full swing, and with the trade deadline less than a month away, rumors are ramping up about some of the biggest stars in the game being traded to new teams.

But at the same time trade rumors are heating up across the NBA, there are still games that need to be played, and January 6th is no different, with a full slate of six games that will take place tonight, a few of which will be on national television.

The upcoming slate of games comes after some exciting contests on January 5th. The most notable was a matchup between the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns, which saw Kevin Durant hit a game-winner over his former team.

Additionally, the Oklahoma City Thunder lost by nearly 30 points to the Charlotte Hornets, and the Golden State Warriors lost by one to the Los Angeles Clippers in a game that saw head coach Steve Kerr ejected.

Storylines For Each NBA Game Tonight

After a less-than-stellar start to the season, the fourth leading scorer in Donovan Mitchell (29.8 ppg) and his Cavaliers have won three of their last four, and hope to get another win over the last place Pacers, who are without star point guard Tyrese Haliburton with a torn ACL after their magical run to the NBA Finals last season.

The Magic have also struggled a bit this season, and with injuries to Franz Wagner, Mo Wagner, and Jalen Suggs, they’ll hope to leave the Capital with a win against the nine-win Wizards, who have been linked to Trae Young in recent trade rumors.

The Spurs have been one of the main storylines this NBA season with Victor Wembanyama as they take on the massively-injured Grizzlies. Wembanyama recently hyperextended his knee, but is listed as questionable for the contest.

In a surprising season with the elevation of some of their young talent, Miami will head north to face Anthony Edwards (seventh in scoring at 29.4 ppg) and the Timberwolves, who are putting together another strong season in the West.

While questions surrounding the fit between Luka Doncic and LeBron James amid the Lakers struggles on defense, Los Angeles will try to take their fourth win in the last five games against the struggling and injured Pelicans.

The Lakers have been linked to Herb Jones and Trey Murphy in trade rumors, so the contest could bring some intrigue as they face off against two players who could be on their roster soon.

While dealing with injuries to some of their top players, Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis will attempt to find their second win in a row after losing their previous four to a Kings team that hasn’t found momentum all season.
