Arsenal’s incredible form does not appear to be slowing them down in the transfer market. With Mikel Arteta’s side six points clear in the Premier League and also top of the Champions League table, they would be forgiven for thinking they already have enough talent in their squad.

They have been boosted by several players such as Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes returning from injury, adding to the already stacked squad they built in the summer with their stunning spending spree.

Yet, this season has proven there are no certainties when it comes to keeping key players fit, while the Gunners have also been punished in previous January windows for their inactivity come the end of the season.

With Arteta already detailing his plans in relation to bringing in fresh faces this month, there are several names currently being linked with a move to N5.

Arteta tracking wonderkid

It is no secret that Arsenal have ramped up their efforts to increase the talent in their academy over the past 18 months. The Gunners’ youth recruitment drive has already seen them snap up Irish midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna, 16, from Shamrock Rovers, as well as Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero, 16, all of whom will officially join next year when they are of age.

It seems they are not willing to stop there, with The Sun reporting Arsenal now want to sign 17-year-old Blackburn Rovers wonderkid Igor Tyjon. The striker made his debut for Blackburn in 2024 as a 16-year-old and is currently on scholarship terms after reportedly turning down the chance to sign a professional contract.

It’s claimed Blackburn have already rejected several bids from Arsenal worth over £1million for the teenager, though they are begrudgingly accepting he will now leave at some stage given his refusal to sign a pro contract. This month is the final chance for Blackburn to command a transfer fee for Tyjon.

Leading race for Man Utd target

Arsenal are reportedly the frontrunners in the race to sign Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. The 23-year-old German international has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, having established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s best wingers.

Adeyemi, who is said to be worth around £61m, was last month reported to want to leave the German giants. Now, with the instability caused by Ruben Amorim’s sacking at United, CaughtOffside claims their rivals Arsenal are more likely to sign the player given the proven success of Arteta’s project.

The report states Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta has laid the framework for the deal and "outlined a defined role" for Adeyemi, who is being eyed as long-term competition for Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank.
