Antoine Semenyo is set for a medical at Manchester City hours after playing one final time for Bournemouth.

The £65million forward will feature for the Cherries when they host Tottenham on Wednesday night and then travel north the next morning to complete a deal.

Semenyo is scheduled to undergo medical testing on Thursday and could be in line to make his City debut in the FA Cup against Exeter City at the weekend.

The Ghana international has nine Premier League goals to his name already this season and will offer Pep Guardiola additional attacking impetus as they attempt to topple leaders Arsenal in the title race.

Liverpool had retained an interest in Semenyo, whose move will pocket former club Bristol City around £11m, but City pressed ahead to secure his signature early in January.

City winger Oscar Bobb is wanted by Borussia Dortmund and other sides across Europe, while Guardiola’s defensive crisis has seen the club intensify interest in Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.

City have made contact over a possible deal for the central defender after Josko Gvardiol broke his leg and Ruben Dias suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out for up to six weeks.
