Liverpool might finally be able to land a long-time transfer target in 2026.
It’s fair to say the Reds have very little luck when it comes to potential deals this month.
Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo have been linked for some time, but both are now wanted by Manchester City, with very little movement on the Liverpool end.

The Merseyside outfit tried and failed to sign Guehi in the 2025 summer transfer window, seeing a £35m offer turned down.
Meanwhile, another player who was linked last year could now leave his current club in 2026.
Bradley Barcola transfer latest
It was reported in July 2025 that Liverpool chief Richard Hughes is a big fan of Bradley Barcola.
Barcola, who was previously called ‘superb’, did not end up moving to Anfield in the last transfer window, however.

The reason for this, it was suggested at the time, was that Liverpool didn’t want to block the path of Rio Ngumoha into the first team.
However, we have since seen Ngumoha play just 48 minutes of football in the Premier League across six appearances.
A deal for Barcola may not be completely off the cards despite the summer snub, however, with journalist Loic Tanzi discussing the forward’s future with ICI Paris.
He said: “I think that Barcola will be a real topic next summer, to leave Paris Saint-Germain.”

If the Frenchman does become available, it would make some sense for Liverpool to look at a move once more.
Slot has praised PSG on multiple occasions since their meeting in the Champions League, including when mentioning their pacey attack and how he’s tried to replicate that at Liverpool.
Commenting on the pace of Hugo Ekitike last month, he said: “He [Ekitike] belongs to the fastest players we have.
“That was one of the things I wanted to add to this team, incredible pace, because I see many of the top teams have one, two, three individuals that have pace that is exceptional.”
“Of course we faced Paris Saint-Germain last season where we had to face Dembele, Barcola, Doue, all of these incredibly fast players. So, that is what we’ve tried to add with him.”
