Bournemouth and Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has enjoyed a stellar start to the 2025–26 campaign, scoring nine goals and registering three assists in 19 Premier League appearances.

Since completing a permanent move from Championship side Bristol City in January 2023, the Ghana international has made 109 appearances for Bournemouth, finding the net 31 times. However, his time at the Vitality Stadium could be nearing its end.

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has suggested that Wednesday night’s Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur may be Semenyo’s final appearance for the club. The winger has attracted widespread interest across the Premier League, including from Liverpool and is now reportedly on the verge of completing a £65million move to Manchester City.

Iraola said: “There is nothing signed with Antoine Semenyo. “If you ask me personally what I think, with all the noise and this, I think it could be the last game. But I cannot guarantee it.

“I understand the market, the noise, but right now there is nothing agreed and nothing signed, so for me he is our player, and I hope he continues, but my understanding also is that there is a chance that it’s his last game.”

Only Erling Haaland and Thiago Igor have surpassed Semenyo’s return of 12 goal contributions this season, with a release clause in his contract putting the Premier League’s elite on alert ahead of the January window.

Reports in late December claimed Semenyo was expected to join City, although he has since featured in league matches against Chelsea and Arsenal, with Bournemouth picking up a point from that demanding double-header.

According to Sky Sports, Semenyo is scheduled to undergo a medical with Manchester City on Thursday, with formal steps expected to accelerate once Bournemouth’s meeting with Tottenham is completed. All terms have been agreed in principle, and Semenyo’s £65m release clause is set to expire on Friday.
