Curtis Jones names Rio Ngumoha as most skilful player at Liverpool

He ended up joining Liverpool, leaving Chelsea furious that he had been snapped off their hands to make an impact for the first team squad this season.

While appearances have not come too commonly in recent months, it is clear that the winger has left an impression on his teammates.

Curtis Jones was asked to name the most skilful player in the Liverpool squad, and instead of selecting someone like Mohamed Salah, he instead elected to choose Ngumoha.

The Blues were left with a large hole in their academy side when he left, and plenty of people at the club are not happy he left.

John Terry knew Ngumoha was a ‘top player’, and the club will be cautious of making a similar mistake again.

Chelsea’s response to Ngumoha mishap

Chelsea can expect some compensation from the Ngumoha deal, however this will likely not be much in comparison to what he will do in the game.

The Blues have therefore looked to make sure they don’t make this mishap in the transfer market again.

They have tied down Ryan Kavuma-McQueen to a long-term contract with the club. The winger is closing in on his first team debut.

The influx of new signings from abroad has made things far more difficult for academy players to make the breakthrough.
