Since Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa on December 6, the Gunners have answered any doubts about their capabilities, remaining unbeaten with impressive victories coming in the reverse fixture against Villa, and a 3-0 win against Club Brugge in the Champions League. Arsenal also recently overcame a spirited Bournemouth side, 3-2, in their first fixture of 2026. Despite the great position Arsenal finds itself in, they are still looking ahead to the future and are working on a deal to sign Igor Tyjon from Blackburn Rovers.

The England under-18 international is said to be keen on the move, having rejected multiple new contract offers from Blackburn. It now looks like the 17-year-old could move to London for a fee of £1 million, with the Gunners eager for Igor to compete with Andre Harriman-Annous.
What Qualities Igor Tyjon Brings
Signing a player of Tyjon’s ability at his age has huge upside. He has already represented England at the under-17 and under-18 age groups. He’s capable of scoring with both feet, moves well, and shows plenty of pace. Tyjon is also adept at picking up the ball in pockets and running at defenders, which he shows more when playing out wide. The potential is obvious, and if Arsenal get their man, will they be able to nurture Tyjon into becoming their main man in attack?
