Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti has played down rumors linking Federico Chiesa with a return to the club, despite previously urging the Liverpool winger to move back to Italy.
Chiesa has been linked with a transfer back to his old club during the January transfer window. The 28-year-old has struggled to make an impact since joining the Reds in the summer of 2024, having made just 34 appearances - including only seven starts - after leaving Juve.
Reports in Italy have suggested that a move back to Turin might be on the cards, with Juventus said to be eyeing up a loan deal.

It is understood though that Liverpool hasn't received any formal approach for Chiesa, and the Reds are said to want to keep the winger. Reds boss Arne Slot recently named him as a backup option for the injured Alexander Isak, which could point toward an increased role in the second half of the season.
And Spalletti looks to have confirmed that there are no plans from Juventus to sign Chiesa at the moment, having told reporters that he is yet to finalize his transfer wishlist for the month.
“I am pleased you are giving me this news, seeing as we haven’t even had a meeting yet on the transfer market, but it’s the first I’ve heard of it,” Spalletti said when asked about the links with Chiesa (via Football Italia).

“For the moment, it’s just thrown out there, but absolutely nothing concrete behind it.”
Spalletti’s comments come just 12 months after he suggested he wanted Chiesa to make a return to Serie A during his previous role as Italy’s national team manager.
Asked whether he would welcome a return to Italy for Chiesa last January, Spalletti said: "Yes, I would be very much in favour of having Chiesa under our watch in terms of the level of our football, to reintegrate him.

It’s not just Juventus that has been linked with a move for Chiesa, with Napoli also touted as a possible destination as Sky in Italy claims that an approach has been made by the defending Serie A champion to take the winger on loan.
However, Sky Sports reports that Liverpool has received no formal approaches, and that Chiesa is “highly unlikely” to leave Anfield this month.
