Wembanyama has a chance to play back-to-back games amid knee issues.
In his report for ESPN, Michael Wright dropped key updates regarding Victor Wembanyama's left knee injury.
San Antonio Spurs / Schedule
While Wembanyama remains under a game-time decision to play in Memphis against the Grizzlies on Tuesday, Wright noted that the San Antonio Spurs star is on track to play back-to-back games out of a minimal bone bruise in his knee.
"I'm told that the nature of his injury, the fact that it's just a bone bruise, that won't preclude him from playing in back-to-backs once he does get back into the lineup," Wright reported.
Wembanyama has missed the last two games for the Spurs due to left knee hyperextension.
Injury-riddled this season, there's a danger for Wembanyama to miss individual awards out of the league's 65-game ruling eligibility for players.
But Wright's update provides plenty of positivity for Wembanyama to remain active and playing. But the French star shouldn't miss more than four games moving forward to remain eligible.
In 24 games, Wembanyama is averaging 24.3 points, 11.7 boards, 3.4 assists and 2.9 steals. After the Grizzlies, the Spurs will play the LA Lakers for the second night of their back-to-back play.
