Elliott was once tipped to become the next big thing so he knows a thing or two about spotting young talents, even if he has not quite progressed into one himself.
His loan move to Aston Villa has been nothing short of a disaster, with it looking like he will return to Liverpool either this month or the summer.

He will still find it hard to get into the team, though, due to the number of top talents at the club, and Elliott himself has spoken about one in particular, saying that he is really ‘excited’ to see what the future holds for him.

Liverpool might have a raft of quality options ready-made, but they have plenty of youth stars who are worth taking the gamble on, and Rio Ngumoha is the pick of the bunch.
He might not get the minutes he deserves, but every time he gets a chance, he seems to take it, with his quality clear for all to see.
Elliott has trained with him and sees more than fans as well, yet he holds him in even higher regard, saying that he is the ‘next gen baller’ to look out for.

“Rio Ngumoha, I think, being with him, last season and the start of this season, I’m so hoping he can reach the heights we all think he can go to,” he said without hesitation as per Prodirectsoccer’s TikTok account.
“I think he will get the right experience he needs and he’ll be told the right things for sure. If he can nail down those important things outside the pitch his ceiling is really, really high and I’m excited to see how he does.”

Harvey Elliott can come back to Liverpool and be Rio Ngumoha’s mentor
Elliott and Ngumoha are fairly similar players who are at very different stages of their careers, but they can both learn a lot from each other.
Elliott in particular can keep the 17-year-old grounded and help him develop, while also offering advice about how sticking around might actually benefit him, something the 23-year-old learnt the hard way.
Ngumoha does not need to panic about game time just yet, with his goal just to keep working hard and take the opportunities when they come, as he will get some.
He has everything he needs and the right people around him to go right to the very top, so watch this space.
