According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Italian giants Juventus have made contact with Liverpool to register their interest in winger Federico Chiesa, who has been tipped to leave the Reds this January.
*LIVERPOOL*have had an indifferent campaign so far this season and do not look like the side that won that Premier League title last season, and there a few players in the side that have also struggled to get the game time that they could like.
Since his move to the Premier League a few seasons ago, Chiesa has really struggled to make the impact that many would have liked, and although he has featured this season, it is far less than he would like at this stage of his career.
Chiesa set for January exit?
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has detailed how the plans to bring him back to Turin came about, with manager Luciano Spalletti rumoured to be in support of any potential transfer.
The article notes that bringing Chiesa back is ‘on the table’ for Juventus CEO Damien Comolli, although the likelihood of a deal happening will be dependent on timing, as well as the player’s own desires to seek more regular game time.
Now, Romano has opened up and claimed that contact has been made between the two clubs – Romano reported on X: “Juventus made formal contact to show interest in Federico Chiesa over possible return in January. Juve are looking to add +1 winger this month and Chiesa is appreciated. Decision up to Liverpool and the player, still early stages.”
In a follow-up update, Romano clarified the player’s stance, stating that “Chiesa would be open to a Juventus return this month.”

Many people were excited to see just what Chiesa would bring to the club when he arrived a few seasons ago, but he simply does not have the quality to play on a regular basis in that *LIVERPOOL*side.
This transfer window gives him an opportunity to get some game time on loan, then he should push fo it to happen as the Reds will surely look to add another attacker to the side before the close of the winter window.
It will be interesting to see just how this all plays out though.
