Chelsea’s Aarón Anselmino has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund since August.
Last month, we covered claims from Germany that Chelsea have inserted an ‘undisclosed clause’ to recall the defender in January.
WAZ now pick up on that and also report that Chelsea have the right to take Anselmino this month by exercising the clause.
On Tuesday, the Blues appointed Liam Rosenior as Enzo Maresca’s permanent successor. The managerial changes at the west London club are unlikely to have an immediate impact on the 20-year-old.
The centre-back has played 565 minutes from nine matches for BVB. Their sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, insists it’s best for Anselmino to finish this season at the Signal Iduna Park.
“I think it makes sense for everyone involved; for us, for him, and ultimately for Chelsea as well,” he said.
WAZ have found out from their sources that Chelsea have no intention of recalling the Argentine U20 international in January.
They say the South American has impressed when given opportunities. Despite his limited role, Chelsea are ‘satisfied’ with his loan spell and Anselmino is also pleased with his time in Germany.
The player has to return to Stamford Bridge after this season. Last month, SportBild reported Chelsea have informed the Bundesliga side of including Anselmino in their plans next season.
