Chelsea have officially announced their new permanent manager following the sudden departure of Enzo Maresca on January 1.
Liam Rosenior emerged as the early favourite to take over following his excellent work at fellow BlueCo club, Strasbourg, and was officially appointed by the club on Tuesday.
Rosenior has now met his new squad, but will not be in the dugout for tonight’s West London derby against Fulham.

There were very few candidates strongly linked to the Chelsea job, with many being ruled out at an early stage. Cesc Fabregas was one of those who was not in the frame.
This is despite Fabregas’ strong start to life in management at Como, as well as strong ties to Chelsea from his playing days.
Paul Scholes believes the Spaniard would have been a better choice for the Blues than Rosenior, although stated a switch to Manchester United should not be on the cards for him.
He said to ‘The good, the bad and the football‘: “Not for United. But do you know what? I actually like what he’s doing and think he might have been a better choice for Chelsea than Liam Rosenior. But he’s not right for Manchester United.”

Chelsea fans can be excited by what Rosenior’s first few games will look like, with there still being plenty to play for in the 2025/26 season.
The Blues are just three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, who face a trip to Arsenal this week.
The chance is there for Rosenior to be given the best possible platform to start off on, with Champions League qualification a priority from this campaign.
