Report: How Chelsea could be set to benefit from potential transfer deal between Fulham and West Ham

Chelsea face Fulham on Wednesday night and may need a little favour from their west London rivals afterwards.

Despite being appointed as Chelsea manager on Tuesday, Liam Rosenior will not be in the dugout at Craven Cottage.

Having not had time to take first-team training, Calum McFarlane will remain in charge for the west London derby.

After that, Rosenior will manage Chelsea’s games, while the 41-year-old will already be giving his input on transfers.

Fulham could sign Raheem Sterling if they sell Adama Traore to West Ham

In regard to Raheem Sterling, Rosenior will not have much to say, as Chelsea decided what they wanted to do with the winger a long time ago.

The Blues are hoping to offload Sterling permanently this month, with Fulham being a potential destination for him.

According to TEAMtalk, Fulham are interested in signing Sterling but are trying to offload Adama Traore to West Ham United first.

Sterling is still the highest earner at Stamford Bridge. It is thought that he earns more than £300,000 a week there.

It is why Chelsea need Traore to join West Ham before the transfer window closes. It will do their finances a world of good if they can sell Sterling to Fulham and get him off their books.

In terms of incomings, it is set to be a very quiet month for Rosenior and the Blues. Chelsea could sign a new centre-back this year, but a deal is unlikely to happen until the summer.

No way back for Raheem Sterling despite managerial change

Enzo Maresca was in charge when Sterling was initially frozen out of Chelsea’s first-team squad. The Italian is gone now, but that will not change anything.

Again, Sterling’s fate was decided a while back, and even if Rosenior was keen on keeping him, the Blues have enough wingers.

Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens are already at the club, while Geovany Quenda is set to join them in the summer.

Quenda is at Cobham now, but the Sporting Lisbon star is just doing his rehabilitation there.
