Just days after Enzo Maresca departed his role as Chelsea manager, Manchester United also parted ways with Ruben Amorim after his woeful 14 months at the club.

The Italian is actually linked to the United job, with them yet to announce a new permanent manager at the speed that Chelsea brought in Liam Rosenior.

Ruben Amorim was furious when Chelsea signed Geovany Quenda

He will be joined in the first team squad next season by Geovany Quenda, signed by the Blues for £40m (Sky Sports).

The youngster currently remains with Sporting, the side previously managed by Amorim before his move to Old Trafford.

According to the Mail Online, Amorim was particularly annoyed that Chelsea beat United to Quenda’s signature when the two clubs were both linked with signing him.

Chelsea plan to use Quenda as a winger, something which likely worked in their favour when it came to the youngster selecting his new club.

Quenda is completing his rehabilitation at Chelsea with the blessing of the Portuguese side, with the hope that he can return to action soon.

Before his injury, the youngster was enjoying a very strong season at club level. He has 13 goal contributions in 22 games this season.

There is plenty of excitement over the latest young signing, however he won’t have long to impress upon his arrival. The future is already not bright for Kendry Paez after his stuttering loan spell at Strasbourg.
