Liverpool injury update on Hugo Ekitike ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Arne Slot has provided a Liverpool injury update ahead of their clash against Arsenal.
The Premier League champions head into the Emirates Stadium encounter on Thursday some 14 points behind the current top-flight leaders. Liverpool’s chances of defending the title were surrendered by December and now their chief aim is to secure a top-flight finish.
The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw against Fulham last time out. Liverpool were without Hugo Ekitike for the Craven Cottage encounter, with the striker missing out because of a hamstring issue. Ekitike is still to return to training, meaning he’s a doubt to face Arsenal.
The Reds head coach said: "He hasn't trained with us up until now. Let's see if he can train with us today. Two or three days ago, when we played against Fulham, I said he wouldn't be out for long but it's hard because the games come so fast. He is in-between maybe training with the team or it maybe taking him one or two days extra.”
Liverpool will definitely be without Alexander Isak (broken leg), Wataru Endo (ankle), Giovanni Leoni (ACL), Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns (both hamstring) while Mo Salah is representing Egypt at the African Cup of Nations.
