LeBron James, 41, says his availability for the rest of the season's back-to-back games is "TBD" as he plays his 23rd NBA campaign.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is in his 23rd NBA season, yet he continues to show that age is just a number.
This season, the 41-year-old legend is averaging 21.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game while playing 33.3 minutes per contest. But back-to-back games present a different challenge.
"Every back-to-back for the rest of the season is TBD. I am 41. I got the most minutes in NBA history. Bank it right now," LeBron said with a smile after the Lakers beat the New Orleans Pelicans 111-103 on Tuesday. They have a game on Wednesday in San Antonio.
"What are we talking about? You just said I don't look like I'm 41, but I am. December 30th, 1984, 4:39 PM. That's when I was born," he added.
Even though he remains a crucial part of the 23-11 Lakers, LeBron's game has evolved this season. He now plays more off the ball, letting Luka Doncic run the show.
"Luka doesn't need to bend his game [for me]," James said. "He's our 26-year-old franchise player, so it's up to us to bend our game around him and figure it out."
LeBron missed the start of the 2025-26 season due to sciatica, sitting out 14 games before returning.
