Wizards at 76ers preview: Washington looks to keep it rolling in Philadelphia

The Washington Wizards will try to keep the good times rolling on the road on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

When: Wednesday, Jan, 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET

Where: Xfinity Mobile Arena, Philadelphia, Pa.

How to watch: Monumental Sports Network, Lecorague Pass

Injuries: For the Wizards, Kyshawn George (hip), Corey Kispert (rest), and Cam Whitmore (shoulder) are out.

For the 76ers, Trendon Watford (groin) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) are out, while Joel Embiid (knee) is questionable.

Washington has become the toast of the league overnight, with five wins across its last seven games. The Wizards have also been a buzzy franchise of late after being tied to Trae Young trade rumors. The team has a chance to keep the spotlight on them with a win over a 76ers squad coming off arguably its worst loss of the year.

The Sixers were upset Monday by a Denver Nuggets team missing all five of its opening-day starters. Despite facing Jalen Pickett and active LinkedIn user Spencer Jones instead of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, a complete Philly lineup lost to the undermanned Denver unit 125-124 at home.

If there were ever a game for the 76ers to be locked in against us, it’s for this matchup. The contest also figures to be a classic scheduled loss for the Wiz Kids, with the team traveling to Philly on the second night of a back-to-back.

Given the context, the Wizards should not win this one. That’s what makes it a lot more interesting if our guys pull off a victory anyway.
