Chelsea will always look to sign the best young talent and Liam Rosenior could land one of England’s best.

The Enzo Maresca era hinted that greater things could be possible at Chelsea with fleeting moments of brilliance during his tenure.

Maresca delivered trophies, although how he was told to go about his business ultimately led to his departure. The trophies that BlueCo want are the Premier League and the Champions League though which Rosenior will now be tasked with competing for. An early request to have Marc Guehi signed to start his time in charge would be a step in the right direction.

Chelsea linked with Elliot Anderson

If Chelsea want to wrestle the Premier League title from the likes of Liverpool and Man City and be able to put more pressure on Arsenal, they need to sign players who would get into their respective starting XI’s. One such player is Elliot Anderson, who David Ornstein has told The Athletic FC has potential suitors lining up: “Elliot Anderson, we hear, is a player that they like, no surprise. All the top clubs like him, and most of them will be in the mix potentially. Maybe with the exception of Arsenal, they're the ones who have a full midfield.

“So, whether it be Manchester United, Bayern Munich, teams on the continent, I heard Chelsea at one point. I'm just saying that the leading lights will be after Elliot Anderson. No January move that goes without saying. It will be too higher price, even those that might be willing to commit the funds. I don't know how easy it would be from a PSR financial fair play perspective. You also need squad space.

“If you're bringing in somebody like that, he's already earning in excess of £100,000 a week. You're going to have to take him higher, which means you'll probably have to move somebody of significant earning potential out, because there's no real gaps in Premier League squads with all this financial requirement these days. Above all of that, Nottingham Forest have zero appetite to trade him right now.

“The summer is a different story. Every player has their price. We're hearing figures 80, 100 million, maybe even more.”

Elliot is ‘one of the best’ in the Premier League

Thomas Tuchel gave Anderson his chance at international level when many were looking elsewhere with the Nottingham Forest midfielder taking to it like a duck to water, how different things might have been if he had stayed an extra couple of days in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad having represented the country of his father’s grandmother up until Under-21 level.

Speaking about Anderson, Tuchel couldn’t speak highly enough of the 23-year old via BBC Sport: "Anderson is a key player for us at the moment," said Tuchel.

"He is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League - that's why he is with us and starting for us. He deserves it because he has been nothing but impressive. He has to keep on going now though. He is a very complete and mobile midfielder, and that's what he keeps showing me."

Anderson would be the perfect foil for Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, at £100m though, he wouldn’t come cheap, just like the current Chelsea engine room.
