Liverpool pushing for Champions League-winning attacker amid rumours about Salah and Chiesa's…

Liverpool may try and break the bank once again in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The Reds had been strongly linked with Antoine Semenyo after it emerged that the winger had a £65m January exit clause. Sporting director Richard Hughes, who worked with Semenyo during his time at Bournemouth, was seen as a key figure in Liverpool’s interest.

But Manchester City beat them to the punch, with a medical already scheduled for the Ghana international.

With that option now off the table, Liverpool remain in the market for a forward who can add pace and unpredictability to their attack, while also helping the club plan for the future beyond Mohamed Salah.

Bradley Barcola from PSG has emerged as a serious candidate. Last month, media reports in France claimed Liverpool were already laying the groundwork for a potential move for the 23-year-old.

Those chances appear to have improved. L’Equipe reporter Loic Tanzi has told Ici that supporters should “keep an eye” on Barcola, describing him as a player who could be involved in a “major deal this summer”.

“I think that Barcola will be a real topic next summer, to leave Paris Saint-Germain,” Tanzi said.

There are a couple of factors that could push the France international towards an exit. Despite his obvious talent, Barcola is not a guaranteed starter under Luis Enrique and has often been used from the bench.

He has scored five goals and provided three assists in 22 appearances this season, but his role has fluctuated. PSG are also considering adding another forward, with Liverpool-linked Yan Diomande among their targets.

Barcola is considered one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe, known for his pace, direct running and ability to get in behind defences.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring the situation, with the latter tipped earlier this month to make a strong push for his signature. Reports in December even suggested Marcus Rashford could be used in a potential swap deal if his proposed move to Barcelona fails to materialise.

Any deal will not come cheap, with Barcola valued at around £87m.
