**Luciano Spalletti has addressed Juventus’ plans to re-sign Federico Chiesa.**
The Liverpool forward continues to be linked with a return to his former club in the January transfer window after failing to force his way into Arne Slot’s starting XI.
Chiesa’s involvement for the Premier League champions has been largely from the substitutes’ bench, opening up the prospect of a surprise move back to Turin.
However Anfield chiefs have been quick to shut down reports that a deal has already been struck for Chiesa, the club’s sole summer arrival last year, to depart.
Speaking after his side’s Serie A win over Sassuolo on Tuesday, Spalletti reaffirmed that the Bianconeri are currently not in discussions to lure the Italy international back.
He said: “I am pleased you are giving me this news, seeing as we haven’t even had a meeting yet on the transfer market.
“But it’s the first I’ve heard of it. For the moment, it’s just thrown out there.
“But \[there is\] absolutely nothing concrete behind it.”
