There’s been a lot of doubts over whether new Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior is ready for the job, so it’s nice to see someone with a really positive take.
Sky pundit backs Rosenior to be a top coach – or a top pundit himself

Darragh MacAnthony was on Sky Sports today giving one of the most ringing endorsements we’ve heard yet.
“I’m not at all [surprised to see Rosenior get this job], everyone who knows this guy says he’s on the up. He’s a very progressive thinking coach, good style of football, handles the media well,” MacAnthony said.
“He’s almost that perfect package. He has that little bit of arrogance. Nothing wrong with that either. I think it’s a really good move. I’m not against it.
“I think he might surprise people… he’ll either be in the Premier League, win trophies and do really well, or he will end up as one of your top pundits on Sky. That’s how well he handles himself. He’s a phenomenal young coach.”
Well we hope it’s the former rather than the latter. Rosenior is certainly very well spoken, which doesn’t really guarantee anything in football, but should make our job in the media a little easier.
The time for talking is almost done – we want to see him in action, and we won’t have to wait long.

In other news…
One player who stands to benefit from Rosenior’s arrival is Andrey Santos, who shone under him at Strasbourg last year. There’s a sense that he will get the trust from his old boss that he never got from Enzo Maresca.
Defensively Chelsea have an obvious best pair, and they’re doing really well when compared to the rest of the league’s centre backs.
