How much money Barcelona can make in the 2026 Spanish Super Cup

FC Barcelona are set to begin their Spanish Super Cup campaign tonight when they [face Athletic Club in the first semi-final of the competition in Jeddah](https://semprebarca.com/barcelona-vs-athletic-club-match-preview-spanish-super-cup/), Saudi Arabia.

The Blaugrana will be aiming to secure a place in the final and take a step closer to lifting the first piece of silverware of the season, with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid contesting the second semi-final on Thursday.

Beyond the sporting ambition, the tournament also offers a significant financial incentive for all four participating clubs. According to [SPORT](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/dinero-ganar-barca-supercopa-arabia-125427708), the Royal Spanish Football Federation will distribute a total of €21.3 million among the teams involved, marking an increase from the €19 million shared in the 2025 edition of the competition.

A total of €16.3 million will be allocated simply for participating in the Super Cup and travelling to Saudi Arabia. This figure is over €1 million higher than last season and is distributed based on criteria such as historical success and participation in international competitions.

Barcelona are expected to receive a fixed amount similar to last year, which stood at around €6 million, with only Real Madrid earning a comparable share. The presence of Atletico Madrid this year slightly balances the overall distribution, although Barça remain among the top beneficiaries.

In addition to the participation fee, a further €5 million will be shared depending on final standings. The winner of the Super Cup will receive €2 million, the runners-up will earn €1.4 million, while the two semi-final losers will each collect €800,000.

The competition is also highly lucrative for the RFEF itself, which generates approximately €52 million from the Super Cup through television rights, sponsorships, and the €40 million agreement with Saudi Arabia for hosting the event.

From this revenue, around €26 million is reinvested into grassroots football, with a focus on supporting clubs across the Primera, Segunda, and Tercera Federación. In total, 82 clubs from these divisions have been invited to benefit from this initiative.

For Barcelona, who continue to operate under financial constraints, the prize money on offer represents a welcome boost and serves as an added motivation to go all the way in the tournament. Winning the Super Cup would not only deliver early silverware under Hansi Flick but also provide valuable income at a crucial time for the club.
