**Calum MacFarlane**has spoken highly about a midfielder in the first team ranks at Chelsea.
Moises Caicedo is one of the undisputed pillars of the project at Stamford Bridge with his tough tackling attitude in the middle of the park that so often acts as a stabiliser for the side. However, he was absent for the trip to the Etihad Stadium, and the visitors needed to find a solution in his role.
Reece James joined Enzo Fernandez in the midfield, and as the game went on, Andrey Santos received an opportunity to show his qualities. The Brazilian stood out in **Ligue 1**last season when he went on loan to Strasbourg, and MacFarlane feels that he is at the level to contribute to the Blues.
“Everyone knows how well Moises has played this year. Since he's come to the club, he's a top player, potentially the best player in the world in his position. I think he'll help us with that tomorrow.
“We definitely missed elements of [Moises’] game in that first-half. But like you said, Andrey came on, was exceptional in the second-half, really gave us a foothold to control the game both in and out of possession. So, I'm hoping Moises not being suspended, being available, we should be able to really control that midfield area.
*“I don't think it's my place to say how much [Andrey] should be playing. I thought he was exceptional the other night. He's played for Brazil, he's more than capable of playing on his side, more than capable of playing in the Premier League.*
“There are not many tougher places to play than 1-0 down at the Etihad away: they were exceptional in the first half. If he can play that level in the second half, he can play at this level and the more he performs like that, I'm sure the more opportunities he'll get. He's been a pleasure to work with.”
