Gull-Mouth Action podcast: How Pascal Gross will help Brighton
Manchester City vs Brighton and Hove Albion confirmed team news
Brighton striker Charalampos Kostoulas was a notable absentee from Fabian Hurzeler’s starting XI at Manchester City.
The Greek frontrunner performed well on his first ever start and was pushing to resume his spot in the attack against Pep Guardiola’s second placed team.
But the 18-year-old sustained a “slight issue” that keeps him out of the matchday squad and he is now a doubt for Sunday’s FA Cup third round clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford this Sunday.
Joel Veltman, who has played the last three matches in the continued absence of Mats Wieffer, also misses out that. Brighton explained that as a “slight issue” as well.
Fabian Hurzeler also gave a first start to Pascal Gross following his return to the club from Borussia Dortmund. The German is expected to start in the centre midfield, along with Jack Hinshelwood, Yasin Ayari, Kaoru Mitoma and Diego Gomez.
Georginio leads the line with veteran striker Danny Welbeck on the bench.
