The January transfer market is heating up, with growing speculation surrounding the future of Marc Guehi, who has been linked with moves to Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
Another Liverpool target appears set for the Etihad, as Antoine Semenyo is expected to complete his transfer this week. Meanwhile, Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti has publicly addressed speculation surrounding Federico Chiesa’s future.
Spalletti told DAZN Italia: “I am pleased that you are giving me some news, because a proper transfer meeting hasn’t actually been held yet, so at least I learn some news from you and I take it into consideration.
“However, as far as I am concerned and as far as I know, the talk is just like that, thrown out there for the moment, but there isn’t anything concrete yet.”
Liverpool youngster James Balagizi has returned to the club following his short loan spell at National League side Forest Green Rovers. The Reds are also in discussions to sign centre-back El Hadji Mor Talla Ndiaye.
Liverpool FC Women are active in the winter transfer window as well. They have officially completed the loan signing of goalkeeper Jennifer Falk, pending international clearance and a work permit.
The Sweden international joins the Reds from BK Hacken, where she spent nearly a decade. The 32-year-old will join Gareth Taylor’s goalkeeping unit for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
Falk brings a wealth of experience, having earned 39 caps for Sweden, including appearances at the 2020 Olympics, the 2023 Women’s World Cup, and last summer’s Women’s European Championship.
She captained Hccken during their 2025 Damallsvenskan-winning campaign – the club’s second league title in history – and has also featured in the Champions League. Falk started her career at Torslanda IK before moving on to Jitex BK and Mallbackens IF.
“I’m very happy and very excited,” she told Liverpoolfc.com at the AXA Melwood Training Centre. “It’s been a dream I’ve had to play in this league and this is a really big club, so I’m really happy.
“I think the environment here is amazing, it’s very cosy but it’s big and it has everything that you could need. It was a nice feeling just seeing everything. I always try to be myself and I am very vocal and driven, and I’ll just try to do the same things here that I have done before.”
