Hurzeler explains post-match scenes as Albion pile up City stress

And he praised much of his team display in a 1-1 draw.

Kaoru Mitoma levelled on the hour after Erling Haaland had converted a penalty.

There appeared to be words said on the touchline at full-time as City’s desperate late push for a winner failed to come off.

Hurzeler, who remains undefeated against City boss Pep Guardiola, said: “I think when it's like a tight game, it's always emotional and everyone shared his opinion and then I think that's football.

“I have huge respect for everyone from City and everyone from the staff and I think emotions are part of a football game and therefore everything is fine."

Hurzeler was generally pleased with his team’s efforts.

He said: “I think we started really strongly in the game.

“We created, I think, three big chances, where at least we should have scored one goal.

“I think the penalty came out of nowhere. It changed a little bit the dynamic of the game.

“City started he game better in the second half.

“We came back out of nowhere, then afterwards I think we had two or three big chances to go in front in the game.

“Then afterwards, City had their chances, their opportunities. So overall, it was up and down.

“When we were only focussing on the performance. I think we are pleased how we performed, how we defended, how we created chances.

“We are not pleased how we give away the chats.

“We did too many easy mistakes, too many mistakes where we invited them to score goals and that is something we have to improve.”
