The Golden State Warriors begin an eight-game homestand on Wednesday night as they take on the Milwaukee Bucks. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State dropped another close game on Monday night after the Los Angeles Clippers beat them, 103–102. Unfortunately, the story of the night centered on the officiating. There were several questionable calls throughout the game, but one sequence in the fourth quarter stood out — a missed goaltending call on a Gary Payton II layup attempt, followed shortly by a foul called on Steph Curry at the other end.
The sequence prompted head coach Steve Kerr to emphatically argue the call, earning himself two technical fouls and an ejection.
Still, the Warriors had a chance to win on the final possession of the game. Down one with roughly six seconds remaining and Curry fouled out, Golden State turned to Jimmy Butler for the game-winning shot. Butler attempted a contested fadeaway jumper that airballed, and the Warriors were unable to secure the rebound, sealing the team’s 18th loss of the season.
What to watch for tonight:
Officiating aside, a major reason Golden State came up short against the Clippers was their poor shooting from beyond the arc. The Warriors finished just 10-of-41 from three-point range (24.4%) despite generating quality looks.
Against a Bucks team featuring elite rim protectors in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Myles Turner, perimeter shooting will be critical. Golden State will need to capitalize on open threes if they want to win against Milwaukee and rise back to two games above .500.
