Raptors’ Ingram leaves game vs. Hornets with right thumb sprain

Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram suffered a right thumb sprain during the first half of Wednesday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets and will be sidelined for the remainder of the night.

Brandon Ingram is done for the night with a right thumb sprain. And so, the team that mustered just 45 first-half points on 2-of-20 shooting from 3-point range (and 3 points from the bench) will now be without its best offensive player.

According to TSN’s Kayla Grey, X-rays on Ingram’s right thumb came back negative.

The 28-year-old recorded six points and two assists over 11 minutes of action before departing.

Entering Wednesday’s contest, Ingram was averaging 22.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists alongside a 47.6 field goal percentage over 37 games this season.

Ingram, acquired from the Hornets ahead of last year’s trade deadline, is in the first season of a three-year, $120 million contract.

The Raptors sit fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 22-15 record.
