BBC: A gloomy task for Liam Rosenior to reach minimum aim this season

The BBC have detailed how it’s a gloomy task for new Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior to reach the minimum aim this season.

The Blues slipped to 8th in the Premier League table last night after losing 2-1 away from home against Fulham.

EXCLUSIVE! The truth about the Chelsea FC project!

Marc Cucurella got himself sent off early in the game with what was a stupid moment from the full back in a moment of madness.

Chelsea players then lost their heads in the aftermath complaining about a decision that was a stone wall one in my opinion, with three of their players getting booked for dissent right after.

Striker Liam Delap did manage to get a goal back for Chelsea and everyone started believing that their ten men might actually get something out of the game.

But any hope was soon crushed there when Fulham pressed on again and found that all important second and winning goal. Chelsea down to 8th in the league.

Nizaar Kinsella of The BBC writes:

“Chelsea have won just one of their past nine league games and two of 11 in all competitions, falling from potential title contenders in November to a side now lagging far behind.

“They have ground to make up to achieve their minimum aim this season – qualifying for the Champions League, which should be achievable with a top-five finish.”

A bit of an understatement

I think if anything, this is playing it all down a bit. That is a very gloomy looking task for Rosenior, and he only has half a season to do it. Yikes.

Chelsea are only five points ahead of 15th place in the Premier League table right now and 17 points off first placed Arsenal.
