In the Premier League, the 2025/26 season has been all about set-pieces. The number of goals scored from them has increased dramatically, thus, teams have begun to focus on them much more fastidiously.
Today, we’ll be looking at the five Premier League teams who have scored the most goals from set-pieces this season. Just for reference, we won’t be including penalties in this list, but corners, free-kicks and throw-ins are all fair game.
Newcastle United
Newcastle United have the tallest squad in the Premier League on average, so it should come as no surprise that they’re one of the highest-scoring teams in the division from set plays.
Malick Thiaw, Dan Burn and Nick Woltemade are all well over 6ft 5 – as such, trying to keep them all under wraps during set-piece scenarios is almost impossible.
When you throw other colossi into the mix, such as Fabian Schar and Sven Botman, you can see why the Toon have been so successful from set-pieces in 2025/26. So far, they have scored ten set-pieces goals in the Premier League this season.
Chelsea
Enzo Maresca, prior to his sacking, looked to play free-flowing attacking football at Chelsea. It didn’t always work out like that, but they had a strong record from set-pieces to fall back on.
Liam Delap is a towering centre-forward, while players such as Trevoh Chalobah are also very capable in the air. In Reece James, they also have an excellent set-piece taker.
At the time of writing, Chelsea have 11 goals from set plays under the belt this season. Will this record grow or diminish under the stewardship of Liam Rosenior?
Manchester United
Manchester United, for all their woes this season, can at least hang their hat on their strong record from set-pieces.
It’s unclear whether this trend will continue at Old Trafford – the sacking of Ruben Amorim will surely shake things up a bit. Currently, the Red Devils have yet to appoint a new head coach.
So far this season, they have scored 11 goals from set-pieces over the course of 20 Premier League games. Can they bolster this record in the latter half of the season?
Leeds United
After a rocky start to the season, Leeds United’s resurgence under Daniel Farke has been very impressive. They’ve taken advantage of everything available to the, including set-pieces.
Players such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin are deadly from set plays – the former Everton man uses his intelligent movement and underrated athleticism to nip in front of defenders.
On top of this, Joe Rodon is also a major threat from corners due to his height and physical strength. The Whites are the joint-top scorers from set-pieces with 12 this season in the Premier League – only one other club can match this tally as things stand.
Arsenal
To the surprise of no-one, Arsenal are that club. The Gunners set the trend for set-pieces this season – naturally, they have followed up on it in spades.
They have all the tools to be a dangerous team from set plays – they have powerful attacking players, excellent set-piece takers and an array of clever routines set out by Mikel Arteta.
Like Leeds, Arsenal have scored 12 goals from set-pieces this season. With Gabriel having returned from injury, expect this tally to increase.
