Although, it must be said that Haaland has been wasteful in front of goal, which stood out last night. City need help up front, and it is set to arrive in the form of Semenyo.

Fabrizio Romano reported last night on X that Antoine Semenyo is set to become a Manchester City player tomorrow. Antoine Semenyo played a key role in Bournemouth’s 3-2 win over Tottenham. Semenyo scored a 95th minute winner for the Cherries which will be his last game and moment as a Bournemouth player at the Vitality Stadium.
Fabrizio Romano also relayed quotes from Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, in which Iraola praised Semenyo. The Bournemouth manager praised the Ghana international for playing through the transfer speculation to perform for his team. He added that Semenyo deserved a special moment, which came when he scored his team’s late winner. Iraola explained: “*He deserved this moment; it’s a fairytale ending. It’s not easy to do what he has done, because most players would have acted differently.*”

City are adding exactly what they so desperately lack in the final third.
Manchester City desperately needs another consistent goal threat, especially one that plays out wide. That has stood out this season. Jeremy Doku has taken his game up a level, but his best work comes as a provider. Doku isn’t a consistent goal threat at this stage of his career; he just isn’t that type of player. Savinho is yet to develop any consistency in the final third with his finishing or his delivery. Whether or not he does remains to be seen. He is also injured, so he cannot be relied upon for the foreseeable future. Oscar Bobb is on the periphery of the City squad and is also injured. So City needs a winger who can score goals. Antoine Semenyo does exactly that.
So far this season Semenyo has scored 10 goals for Bournemouth in 21 appearances this season. He has scores in a variety of ways and with both feet. Pep Guardiola’s squad is screaming out for that type of player. They are getting that in Semenyo and the hope is that he can hit the ground running as a Manchester City player.
