Chelsea should sign£70M powerhouse–Blues icon tells board.

Former Blues star and now Pundit Pat Nevin has opened up and encouraged Chelsea to spend some money and try to bring in Everton star Jarrod Branthwaite to Stamford Bridge.

CHELSEA finished the season very well last year and they got champions League football, and they won a European trophy, which doesn’t come around very often. So Enzo Maresca was looking for a better start this season.

But on New Years day, he was allowed to leave and now Chelsea have former Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior in charge in hope they can get back into the habit of winning and pushing towards that Premier League title

But it seems that they are now looking at adding the talented Branthwaite to the side in order to help improve the defensive side of the game, as the Blues have been very shaky at the back this season.

On a potential defensive addition, Nevin said: ‘Jarrad Branthwaite is another player Chelsea could be looking at.

‘They desperately need a centre-back and while he’s been injured at Everton for most of the season, given Chelsea’s methodology and youthful transfer policy, I don’t know of any better young centre-backs than Branthwaite.’

CHELSEA need to improve that defence, so he will get some game time, they will challenge for trophies and he could also get a bumper new pay rise, it would be very hard to turn down a move to London.

But £70 million is alot of money for a player that only has the potential to become one of the best in the Premier League.
