Arsenal open contract talks with Havertz

arsenal fc

Kai Havertz is the latest Arsenal player to be offered a new deal by the club.

That is despite the fact that he has been injured for most of the season, after sustaining knee damage during the opening Premier League match at Manchester United.

He is now back fit again, but will be eased into action gradually.

The new deal involves an extension to his current contract, which runs until 2028, of a year, although not on improved terms.

The club are looking to reward him for the level of commitment and determination shown by the forward on his road to recovery, which has impressed Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff,

And it continues the club’s policy of renewing the contracts of key players, which has been the priority of Sporting Director Andrea Berta during the summer.

New deals for Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber are close to being finalised, and talks with Declan Rice over a new contract are expected to begin shortly.
