Chelsea have appointed Liam Rosenior as their new manager, after parting ways with Enzo Maresca on New Year’s Day.
Rosenior arrives from RC Strasbourg, a club owned by BluCo, who also own Chelsea. The new Blues manager wants to raid his former club.
That’s according to DSport, and they state Rosenior is already thinking about signing Strasbourg’s Valentín Barco for Chelsea.
The 21-year-old initially joined the Ligue 1 side on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion a year ago. They made his stay permanent last summer.
Barco has been a regular under the Englishman at the French club. He played 23 matches this season, managing a goal and six assists.
The Argentine midfielder, who can also operate as a left-back, established himself as a key player under Rosenior. The report states the latter now wants the midfielder as his first signing at Stamford Bridge.
According to them, there’s a ‘good chance’ of Chelsea signing him because of the Todd Boehly connection. This helped the Club World Cup winners take the former Hull City boss.
There’s belief Boehly shouldn’t have too many problems bringing the South American to Chelsea in the winter market. If this is the case, there could be movements in the next few days.
On New Years Eve, AS reported Chelsea are weighing up a move for Santos left-back Souza.
