The new Arsenal away kit for the 2026/27 season appears to have been leaked online ahead of its official release.
The brand new Arsenal away shirt for the forthcoming 2026/27 season appears to have been revealed online well ahead of its official release after a major leak of Adidas designs for the coming year.
Images and descriptions of several new kits by the German manufacturer have appeared online, with Arsenal’s next home jersey among a number of Premier League shirts which have turned up – and while the leak has not yet been verified, we may now also have a clear idea of what Arsenal’s away kit will look like after the summer.
What Arsenal’s away kit for the 2026/27 looks like – according to leaks
While the apparent leak cannot be confirmed as yet, several online media outlets have corroborated the details of Arsenal’s new away kit, with Footy Headlines producing an artistic render of the new kit – which can be seen in the social media post above - which gives us an idea of how Mikel Arteta’s men will look on their travels in the near future.
The new shirt is a direct sequel to the iconic ‘bruised banana’ kit used by the club between 1991 and 1993, and which has become perhaps the most popular retro shirt in the club’s history. The new Adidas shirt flips the colouring, with the body now dark blue rather than yellow, but brings back the distinctive chevron design running right the way across the shirt.
Clean yellow and red trim across the sleeves and collars, combined with the typical Adidas triple-stripe design across the shoulders, add a dash of additional colour, while the alternate Adidas trefoil logo and simplified Arsenal club crest are picked out in yellow as well, along with the primary shirt sponsor’s logo.
While the image above is a render based on available information and no photographs of the kit have yet emerged, Footy Headlines estimate the mock-up to be “90% accurate” to the available information. But how will the fans feel about the new shirts?
Negative fan reactions as Arsenal go back to a retro look once more
While the bruised banana may have gone down as a firm favourite, the Arsenal faithful don’t seem quite as impressed with the new version based on the initial reaction on social media, much of which focuses on Adidas’ habit of reusing the same few designs for the Gunners’ change kits.
One commenter complained about the “same stuff all the time” while another took issue with "rehash after rehash - had a million lightning bolt kits and now this."
While Adidas have certainly been fond of a lightning-inspired design since taking over the manufacturer’s license with Arsenal, this is only the second time they have used the bruised banana as a template for their work, with the 2019/20 away kit – a yellow number with angled chevrons – the only other to borrow ideas directly from the iconic Nineties design.
Despite that, fans certainly seem rather less enamoured with Adidas’ new designs than they were with this season’s kits, which came in for widespread praise and which we named as being among the best new shirts of the year. There is no word on when the new shirt will be released, but it is unlikely to be launched officially for several months.
