Chelsea are not expecting to have a busy month in the January transfer window, despite Liam Rosenior's appointment as the club's new head coach.
Sources have told football.london that the Blues will act if the right opportunity presents itself but will wait until the summer window opens to make significant changes to their squad. The west Londoners spent over £250million in the summer of 2025 on eight senior players and club chiefs remain happy with the squad that Rosenior has inherited.
Chelsea did make an inquiry to Antoine Semenyo's representatives towards the end of last month but decided against making a move for the Ghana international in the end. Semenyo is now on the verge of joining Manchester City from Bournemouth. The Blues showing interest in Semenyo was opportunistic due to the 26-year-old's £65million release clause that only became active this month.
Sources close to Chelsea insisted club chiefs have full belief in the wingers currently playing their football at Stamford Bridge. Though the west Londoners will always consider additions in order to improve the squad; especially in the summer transfer window.
There could, though, be some departures in the coming weeks. Raheem Sterling is looking to leave the Blues on a permanent basis this month and has interest from fellow London clubs West Ham United and Fulham.
The 31-year-old winger has been frozen out at Chelsea and that situation is not expected to change anytime soon despite Enzo Maresca's departure last week. Sterling wants to remain in the capital but would consider his options should the right offer came in from elsewhere.
Axel Disasi, too, has interest from elsewhere with Chelsea wanting to sell the Frenchman. Like Sterling, Disasi has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge and clubs from abroad are said to be considering making a move for the 27-year-old defender.
The next few weeks will be interesting for Tyrique George. The 19-year-old attacker has made just 11 appearances this season in all competitions for the Blues, with his last Premier League appearance coming way back in October, where he had a seven-minute cameo against Sunderland.

George is considering his options, unsurprisingly given his minutes this season. There is interest in the teenager's signature and it will be interesting to see whether Fulham go back in for the Cobham graduate after coming close to signing him in the summer transfer window on a permanent basis.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are aware of interest in Josh Acheampong. Bayern Munich have been keeping an eye on the 19-year-old defender's situation for a while now but the Blues have no plans to let him leave anytime soon. Club chiefs rate Acheampong extremely highly and believe he has an enormous future at Stamford Bridge, football.london understands.
