Let’s do something a bit different today. The Premier League can be an incredibly stressful thing for players, manager and fans alike – so let’s have a look at something a little bit more light-hearted.
Today, we’ll be looking at the five funniest Premier League manager moments from 2025/26. There aren’t any strict parameters in this one – if it made us laugh and it involved a Premier League manager, it’s up for inclusion.
Thomas Frank Enjoys a ‘Cafe Gunner’
We’ll start the list off with a recent occurrence. Things haven’t been going well for Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur recently – their woes were compounded after a defeat against Bournemouth at Dean Court in midweek.
To make matters worse, during the game, a Bournemouth staff member – no doubt chuckling to themselves – handed Frank a coffee cup with the Arsenal badge emblazoned on it.
Unaware of the offending article, Frank happily drank from his Arsenal cup, as social media erupted with memes and outrage from Lilywhites fans.
‘Free Kobbie Mainoo’
The saga between Ruben Amorim and Kobbie Mainoo was well-documented. Things reached a head when Kobbie Mainoo’s brother, Jordan, attended a Manchester United game wearing a t-shirt which read ‘Free Kobbie Mainoo’.
We didn’t find this particularly funny – if anything, it was a tad embarrassing. Instead, we found humour in Amorim’s dry response to the incident.
Speaking in a press conference, Amorim merely stated: ‘He is not going to start because of the t-shirt. He is also not going to the bench because of the t-shirt.’ This was the last we ever heard of the infamous t-shirt.
Nottingham Forest’s Manager Merry-Go-Round
This isn’t a particular moment as such, but we’d like to highlight the utter chaos that Nottingham Forest’s three permanent head coaches have faced this season.
First, off, Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked, despite leading the Trees to the Europa League at the end of last season. They then appointed Ange Postecoglou, who barely had time to find himself somewhere to live before he was given the boot.
Things seem to have settled down with the gritty Sean Dyche in the hotseat, but the carnage fostered by Evangelos Marinakis at Forest has made for fascinating viewing.
Unai Emery Loves Marco Bizot
This one was just bizarre. Aston Villa’s main goalkeeper, Emi Martinez, was injured – as such, new signing Marco Bizot was expected to step in.
When asked about Martinez’s status and whether Bizot would play, Villa boss Unai Emery repeatedly answered ‘Marco Bizot’.
This went on for a few minutes, before Emery called a halt to the interview. Bizot would go on to concede three goals in 3-0 home defeat against Crystal Palace in the game immediately after this.
Pep Guardiola – Bald?
It’s no secret – Pep Guardiola’s hair follicles have long since betrayed him. His bald head has become a defining feature of his physical characteristics – it’s difficult to imagine him with hair!
After City defeated Fulham by a score of 5-4 in an all-time Premier League classic, Guardiola made reporters laugh when he said the game was making him ‘lose his hair’.
Guardiola certainly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but he carries a certain charisma with him that will be missed when he leaves the Premier League.
