Ryan Rollins is having a breakout seasonwith the Milwaukee Bucks, and Golden State Warriors head coach is certainly noticing the kind of campaign the former Dubs guard is putting together.
Following Golden State’s 120-113 win at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, Kerr got a little reflective about his former player.
“Obviously, if we had seen this coming, we wouldn’t have made that trade,” Kerr said during a postgame press conference, viaJoseph Dycus of Mercury News.
Warriors’ Kerr faces backlash after comment on Milwaukee’s Rollins
However, many fans, mostly Warriors supporters, took the opportunity to call out Kerr.
Golden State has won multiple NBA titles under Kerr, but the Warriors have struggled to develop players into stars over the last several seasons.
And with Rollins looking andplaying like a Most Improved Player Award top candidate, fans can’t help but be negative about Kerr and the Warriors.
“Rollins calling BS on this right away. Kerr wouldve never given him that opportunity, doesn’t like players that can pressure rim and score in isos.
Can almost gurantee Kerr and Podz have a “special” relationship off court but can’t prove it lmao,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “I hate this guy I really do.”
From a commenter: “He wouldn’t have been able to develop as a warrior they would have wanted him to pass the ball to Steph and only shoot late shot clock shots.”
“Hasn’t developed one player…,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Kerr is showing he doesn’t know how to coach young players..”
Said another: “Sorry Kerr but you would have not developed him too.”
Despite the loss to Golden State, Rollins had a solid performance for the Bucks, scoring 16 points on 7/13 shooting from the field with seven rebounds and four assists. On the season, the 23-year-old Rollins is averaging 17.2 points, 4.4 boards and 5.7 assists per game, while posting a 57.1% effective field goal.
