Rockets forward Tari Eason threw a subtle jab at the referees after the game against the Blazers when asked what makes Deni Avdija difficult to guard, repeatedly responding, "Zebras."
Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason spoke about what makes Portland Trail Blazers star Deni Avdija so difficult to guard following a 103–102 loss in Portland.
Eason, who finished the game with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds, was blunt when asked the question in the locker room postgame, pointing to the men in striped uniforms as the reason the Blazers forward is tough to defend.
“Zebras. Zebras. Zebras,” Eason stated.
Avdija poured in 41 points, shooting 13-of-24 from the field and knocking down 13 of his 15 free-throw attempts in the game.
This season, the 25-year-old Israeli forward also leads the NBA with 378 free-throw attempts, averaging 9.9 attempts per game.
Overall, Avdija is having the best season of his NBA career, averaging 26.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers currently sit ninth in the Western Conference with an 18–20 record.
