Fermin Lopez was one of the stars of the show for FC Barcelona last night as they defeated Athletic Club with ease in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal.
The attacking midfielder shone brightly with a goal and two assists as the Catalans hit five goals past the Basque club in the first half.

Speaking to the official RFEF media after the game, Fermin highlighted how the entire Barcelona team had excelled against Athletic on the night.
“To be honest, it was a brilliant match from all of us. We came out really fired up right from the first minute and we put in a very complete performance,” he said.

Talking about making it to the final of the competition and what it meant for him and the team, the young midfielder remarked:
“I’m absolutely delighted, honestly, to reach the final. It’s a really nice competition and we’re very excited about it.”
Finally, Fermin was asked about his preference between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid as Barcelona’s opponents for the final, with the two Spanish capital clubs set to face off tonight in the second semifinal.
In response, the La Masia graduate said: “It doesn’t matter, to be honest. Both of them are top teams, both have loads of quality, it’s going to be very tough, but we’re ready for whatever comes.”
Fermin is enjoying a fine season so far, having already racked up eight goals and assists apiece from just 20 appearances.
