Arsenal take on Liverpool in the Premier League, as they look to extend their advantage over rivals Manchester City and Aston Villa to eight points. Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery saw their sides held against Brighton and Crystal Palace, respectively, opening the door to a night for the Gunners to exploit.
Mikel Arteta says his team have a point to prove in the game, having been beaten by the Reds at Anfield earlier in the season. The two teams’ campaigns have diverged considerably since then, and Arsenal might move as many as 17 points adrift of Arne Slot’s team.
The Gunners will still be without Riccardo Calafiori and Cristhian Mosquera for the visit of Liverpool, as Arteta says they are entering the final stage before returning. Kai Havertz however could be part of the group and has trained ahead of the game.
